Subject: Complaint - Yukon Stone Outfitters
Dear Mr Gosselin;
Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. Our usual protocol for complaints such as this, that are directed to our department, is to contact the Yukon Outfitters Association (YOA) in which Yukon Stone Outfitters is a member, and then to advise the complainant of our actions. Your e-mail correspondence dated Feb 9, 2008 was directed to Yukon Outfitters Association and Terry, with only a cc to the Department of Tourism and Culture , Department of Environment, TIA Yukon and others. Since we were aware of your e-mail directed to the association who would deal with the matter, no further correspondence was considered necessary at that time. YOA could see that you had informed Yukon Government of your complaint.
As a result of your recent correspondence, we have again contacted the Yukon Outfitters Association regarding your experience who have advised that they intend to follow up on the matter. Please be reminded that the Yukon government is not in a position to intervene in the way a business operates unless it conflicts with Yukon Government legislation. Details that govern the hunting industry can be found in our Yukon Hunting Regulations at http://environmentyukon.gov.yk.ca/huntingtrapping/huntingregulations.php .
It is unfortunate that your clients "trip of a lifetime" was such a disappointing experience and we do hope that you and the Yukon Outfitters Association are able to resolve this matter.
Sincerely,
Shannon McNevin
